…Keys into FGs CNG agenda
Chairman of Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria, (IBAN), Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan has submitted a letter on behalf of its 33 members, accepting Presidential Bola Tinubus offer of the Bank of Industry (BoI) soft loan to Broadcast Media stations.
Ramalan revealed this to the Hon. Minister of Trade and Investment, Dr. Nkiruka, during a courtesy call on the Minister by the leadership of IBAN in Abuja, yesterday.
The Trade and Investment Minister assured members of IBAN that the Bank of Industry would be having meetings next week towards implementing the Presidential Directives in supporting Nigerian Broadcasting Stations (NBC) licence-holders with moderate, easy paying single-digit BoI loan, in order to switch to the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered generators and equipments, in line with the Federal Government’s CNG agenda on the adoption of alternative fuel and diesel that would surely reduce media stations’ cost of operation by 70%
Ramalan, in his response, said IBAN members are now going to start investing on CNG generators and transmitters, especially with the new policy of the Federal Government, launched by the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda by President Bola Tinubu.
He assured that: “By the end this year, all our Broadcast Media Stations that are still operating are expected to be running on CNG. And that is a whole lot of money we are going to invest; we thank the Federal Government for the BOI support and assistance”.
